Green Salad with Honey and Curd Dressing

A truly exotic combination of greens, cucumber and avocado is perked up with tangy grapes, and laced with a peppy honey-curd-mustard dressing, resulting in a tongue-tickling but heart-friendly salad. Although avocado is high in fat, it contains good fatty acids (mono unsaturated fatty acids) that help to lower blood cholesterol. Plus, the ample vitamin C content of this recipe helps to maintain the lining of the arteries. All the more reason for those who love their heart to love this wonderful Green Salad with Honey and Curd Dressing.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes.

Serves 4.

½ cup shredded lettuce
½ cup shredded cabbage
1 cup cucumber cubes
¼ cup finely chopped celery (ajmoda)
1 cup avocado cubes
1 cup grapes, cut into halves

To be mixed into a honey-curd dressing
¾ cup low-fat curds (dahi)
2 tsp honey
¼ tsp mustard (rai) powder
Salt to taste

Combine all the salad ingredients in a deep bowl, add the honey-curd dressing and toss well.
Serve immediately.
