Vegan No-Tuna Salad – No Cooking & No Food Processor or Blender Needed.

I used to love tuna salad sandwiches before I became vegan in 2014. Now that I can’t have tuna any more I needed to find a way to bring back tuna salad without using any tuna.

Thankfully, I found a few vegan recipes on YouTube and I took what I liked from each recipe to create my recipe.

If you wanna make this even healthier you can add ground flaxseeds, chia seeds or hemp seeds. You could even add very small cubes of tempeh or tofu. If you add tempeh, make sure you steam it for 10 minutes before you use it. That gets rid of the bitter taste it has when it is raw.

You can eat this on toasted sandwich bread, a french roll or with crackers.

I had a non-vegan friend of mine taste it and he said he really likes it. He even came back for seconds.

Here are the ingredients.

1 can of cooked chickpeas – drained
4 tbsp vegan mayonaise
1 sheet of nori – finely chopped
1 carrot – washed and diced
12 an onion – diced
2 celery stalks – washed & diced
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
12 tsp salt (to taste)
1 tsp black pepper (to taste)
Sliced bread or french roll or cracker
1 tomato – sliced thin
